Hugh Hilton
Co-Founder, Managing Director
Hugh's experience spans a variety of industries, including retail, manufacturing,
telecom, technology, healthcare, real estate, gaming and hospitality.
He received a BBA (with high distinction, angel scholar) and an MBA (with distinction, Beta Gamma Sigma) from the University of Michigan, and a JD from the University of Colorado . He is a member of the American Bankruptcy
Institute and Colorado Bar Association.
Hugh has worked as VP of BankAmerica Investment Real Estate, President
of the real estate fund advisory arm of First Interstate Bancorp, and
President of HVK, Inc. Prior to Catalyst, he was Managing Director of
Alvarez & Marsal, Inc.. In August 2003 he left A&M to join Mark Velarde
in the founding of Catalyst, LLC.
In addition to his advisory roles, Hugh has filled a number of interim
senior management roles in turnaround situations, as follows:
- Responsible Officer, Furniture Retailer, 1992-1994 Wind-down of liquidating
Chapter 11, sale of leasehold interests.
- CEO, Discount Retailer, 1996-1997 Debt elimination and profit enhancements
for a $600 million mass merchandise chain
- President, Music retailer, 1998-2001 Operational improvement and new
product development for 575-store specialty music retailer.
- Chairman & CEO, online music retailer, 2000-2001 Cost reduction and
M&A responsibilities
- Financial Advisor to Senior Lending Group for major Las Vegas Hotel
and Casino, 2002-2003,
$600.0 Million Restructure and Sale.
- CEO, Restaurant Holding Company, 2003 to present Managing 3 separate
restaurant chains totaling $250 million in revenue.
